We bought Mas de Mahystre in the Languedoc, France in June 2005. At the time, my husband was working in Montpellier and we had two young children. We adored the centre of Montpellier but we craved countryside and space for our expanding family and our friends and relations to visit. We hunted for about a year before we stumbled upon our special house.
A year and a half after we moved in, our third child was born and we felt more and more settled. The rascals attended the lovely village school and we reaped the benefits of life in a beautiful, unspoiled, charming, private corner of France. We lived here for over six unforgettable years.
In February 2012 we moved to Montreal, Canada with my husband’s work and loved the adventure for 18 months before returning to London in July 2013. Now we are loving living by the sea in Brighton.
We cannot bear to be parted from Mas de Mahystre completely, so instead of selling our unique home, we started renting it out, so other people can enjoy our special hideaway. When it is not rented, ourselves and our family make the most it, as it is a perfect home for all seasons.
